Big Surprise...

Last night I was viewing TVXQ's first live concert Rising Sun. In the second half, there was a song Free Your Mind and then I discovered that the rap was done by JaeJoong. Among the five in the group, he is the most unlikely person to do rap...I always thought it was YUnho or YoChun.....Ah, they are really ful of surprise and emm...just cannot imagine what they will bring us in August.

Really expecting, another journey to wonderland..

Above all, please be happy, my dear TVXQ

Whatever they say.

It is really tiring to live a life in this way. For the first time I realised, my friends gather around me not because they like who I am, but because they enjoy correcting me in all ways possible.

I know that I am never a good girl, in whatever way they think. From what I can think of, I do not deserve a friend. However, if you are not serious with this friendship, then don't fool around with me. Being a friend, if I cannot let you see my worst part, my weakest moment or my darkest time, then what is the point anywayz? Being a friend, if you always take me for granted, if you never try to understand me, if you never wanna be a comfort, then what is the point?

My dear friends, I am really really tired of all these kinds of rubbish, so please leave me alone if you are not gonna be a friend.

Exam OvEr...~~...

To be honest, I have totally no idea how I survive the mid-year exam. So far only maths and physics results are out, not too bad. Even though not top scorer, still obtain an A grade.

Actually, this is all I wanted. SInce in the final transcript, no makrs will be indicated. thus, 99 and 79 make no big difference at all.  However, results will be posted on the notice board, that is the only thing makes me feel miserable, yeah, a little bit only.

The rest of results will be out next week, hope can still pass, then I will be able to take higher 3 maths. Even though not really interested in maths, it is the only subject so far that I can study at a higher level. I was hoping for a higher economics course, yet, economics result will never be good enough to allow me. Sigh...

After viewing though the paper, I realised that I would have done so much better if I have studied last term. ANywayz, no one is blaming be since I was indeed too busy last term. I did not remember a single day when I reached home, the night has not fallen.

Busy though, it made me feel fulfilled. Through all the competitions, volunteer works, seminars and so on, I did make a few friends and enjoyed my life. This term onwards, I must shift my focus a little bit and try to study harder. It does not feel good when I did not get what I could have gotten.

So my dear friends, wish me all the best and I will be back! haha..

Back now!

Hmmmm, just got back from Switzerland and Germany. Quite a fun trip. Thanks for all your best wishes and all.

Used to think that it is not possible to study in a country without speaking the language. however, this thought has been overturned in the trip. After visit to Swiss Ministry of Education and Germany Universtat Stuggart. Universities in most European countries offer international courses taught in English. Even though many of them are Masters or Doctoral degrees, it can be good experiences for those have finished BA in English speaking counties.

The programmes offered are of a great variety and all have promising future for students. I am thinking, maybe after attending one university in US, I can go Switzerland to do my master. Indeed, Sw is a fantastic country, so, another goal to work towards.

God bless you all.

really really dun noe what to say lah...

life is pretty boring after all the competitions were over....the only thing I am looking forward now is soccer finals, in which we may win and get a full day. Even though our pricinpal is the suckiest one ever seen, we believe that he should always try not to be, at least not always, a son of bitch.

All performing groups are currently very angry with him. I am quoting, "I understand that all performing groups were practicing very hard and the results you brought home is the best in school history. However, I would like to say that you are supposed to do what you have done, because that is your responsiblity to make the school feel proud. I know many of you have practiced until mid night, hence, you couldn't keep up with your other stuff and you think you deserve a day off. However, I just wanna remind you all, that is your own choice. The school has never asked you to practice that hard. So in this way, you cannot have the rewards."

Ahhhhhh~~~, we are really really upset about his remarks...and dun noe what to say lah hah...

Hong Kong University

I have met some friends from Hong Kong recently. We have talked about how to get admitted into a Hong Kong university. Appatently interview will be the most difficult part for many people. Here are some tips for you all.

  1. Be the first one to speak up. Modern universities are looking for future leaders not followers. They like people with guts. Speak up so that you can be heard.
  2. Remember to involve others in the conversation. It is a time to show your verbal abilities, yet, remember, no one like a know-it-all. Others in the same group are you competitors, but they are not to be ignored. They are to be respected. Involving them shows that you are a considerate, open-minded person.
  3. Be polite at all time. Do not cut through when others are talking. The time will come for your argument. Be a good listener is also very important.
  4. If possible, try to lead the discussion. Ask approprate questions.
  5. Smile and be confident. Looking good is very important. Yes indeed, being good is the essential.
  6. Express your views. I understand there are many concerns in politics, society and so on. However, be brave and take a clear stand. "I think...but thast also can" kind of answer wont earn you anything. It only shows you are lacking of principles. There will sensitive issues being talked about. whatever you are concerned with, you sure have your own opinion. whether it is against the majority or not, it shows that you are a thinking individual.

some topics from previous years as well as our school workshop

  • What do you think about death penalty?
  • Do you think it is government 's position to legalise abortion?
  • Why prostitution should be stopped rather than forced prostitution should be stopped?
  • What is your take on democracy?
  • To what extent is freedom essential in today's society?
  • Do you enjoy right of privacy?
  • Why shouldn't teenagers vote?
  • What can you say about corruption?
  • Should age of retirement be postponed?
  • How do think about the changes brought about by joining WTO?
  • Why do you think that government should spend money on science research such as sending people to Mars?

That should be all I can remember.

My Lovely Life Returns!

Even though life is far more miserable that any of us can think of, it brings some joy from time to time.

SYF has always been a pain, and now it is over. I do not really give a damn to those balming me since they are just worthless in doing that. Apparently, I did what I thought was the best during the competition and I am fine with the fact that many do not agree with me. ALso, after receiving no honourous reward, I am ready to take the responsibility, since someone has to. For all official and unofficial records, yes, it is my fault.

Nevertheless, I believe that even if I did it the other way, which was to leave that part blank and let the audience to imagine the existence of music, I will still be the one to blame. There are always people wanting to feel morally or in any other ways, superior to others so that they wont be hold to responsibiltity.

I have no objections to that since the world is like that. Also, I would like to wish my section leader all the best. Do not over stress yourself, you did well and all of us are very proud of you. You are a great player as well as a great friend. It is my honour to have known you in the past one year and half. Let the past pass and tomorrow we start anew.

After all, now I am free to do many things that I have not done yet. I am currently meeting with my tutors and lecturers to make up lessons I missed during SYF preparation, I am trying to remember many things that I have forgotten, also, I am continue learning languages, currently being Latin, German and of course, English. FOr the record I would like to say that German is a really really challenging language and that is really really difficult to learn.

I am going to Germany and Switzerland in two weeks' time, so I better speed up my pace of learning. Important to learn the language, since that is respect to the country and to the people I am gonna meet. Not too sure about why, but that is how I feel.

What else? yeah, TVXQ is cool, and...cool!

Several Suggestions for Application to USA

All these were from my Scholarship Superviser Mdm Wee.

When you are choosing universities, be sure that it fits most of your criteria, such as , major offered, school population, academic requirements, sports, etc.

For most of applicants, we are looking for financial aids. In this sense, we can either choose top private universities, such as Yale, Harvard or Princeton. These are the universities that are very generous in giving you money. Otherwise, you can choose liberal arts college, such as Smith. Liberal arts colleges tend to be rich and are willing to offer you financial aid.

For most USA schools, they play down the role of academic results. Instead, they look at personal characteristics such as integrity, leadership, teamwork and courage. Be sure to express your best qualities in your PS, that is worth ten times of your academic results.

For example in my school, all students holding a key leadership position will get a scholarship to support them through undergraduate studies regardless of their academic results. The reason is simple. We do not need smart people that much since they are all over the place, instead, we need people who can lead the smart people. See the point?

For letters of recommendation, it is important that they come from different groups of people. Your couch in sports team, your teacher, professionals you met during a forum, etc. Variety of sources has already showed something about your life.

Lastly but most importantly, do not cheat. It is important to remain honest under all circumstances so that you can hold your head up and high as a human being. The university will check through your materials very carefully, yes they WILL! We are all good students, good people, act like it.

that should be all I can remember. Be sure to let me know if there are other things you are interested. I can always check with my teacher and seniors, since those things might be my concerns as well.

Wink
